Lee Williamson

From joining Sunderland Marine as General Counsel, I became North’s Group Compliance Director, and in 2018, Chief Risk Officer – a position I now hold at NorthStandard.  

In overseeing our risk and compliance department, my responsibilities include developing and maintaining a robust risk management framework, ensuring we identify and understand the risks we face while implementing our strategy, and taking action so we don’t exceed our risk appetite.   

We do this in several ways – by developing and monitoring key risk indicators, maintaining compliance systems and controls, updating the Board on all risk and regulatory issues, and building strong relationships with our regulators.  

I am part of NorthStandard’s Regulatory Leadership Team, and also a member of both the International Group’s Regulatory Affairs Committee and the Institute of Risk Management.
